To create educational opportunities for Cincinnati residents and for the encouragement of diversity in film, the Cincinnati Film Society has a series of ongoing programs that are scheduled throughout the year.
Women Behind the Scenes – This program addresses issues with the portrayal of and employment of women in the film industry. The program is made up of lectures, support for female filmmakers, and networking among females in the industry. Learn more about the program.
Cincinnati Animation Network– Animation is a method of filmmaking that is not to be overlooked, that’s why we have teamed up with the Cincinnati Animation Network to bring you access to Cincinnati animation happenings. There are events for animation artists, students, and enthusiasts- learn more about animation at the Cincinnati Film Society.
Celluloid Project 8 to 70– The Celluloid Project: 8 to 70 is designed to contribute to the recollection and continual production of motion picture on traditional celluloid film, by providing opportunities for indie filmmakers to produce movies on celluloid and presenting them on the big screen around the world. Youth Education– Using our specially-developed curriculum and a targeted writing assignment, students will learn about what goes into producing an original film from pre to post production. By participating in our momentous programs youth will develop critical thinking skills and learn how to analyze, evaluate, and critique media.
