Cincinnati Film Society would like to introduce you to our partner Queen City Theater (QCT) founded by Producing Artistic Director Lyle Benjamin. Lyle, takes a glance with us at film adaptations of plays.
CFS: What is your favorite movie adaptation of a play?
Lyle: Beasts of Southern Wild. I love the movie, it’s mix of mysticism and Stark reality, I can’t imagine how it was ever a play.
CFS: What adaption are you afraid to admit you love to your friends?
CFS: If you could work with any Broadway Director to make a Hollywood movie, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Lyle: Bob Fosse, his grasp of storytelling through movement is incomparable. All that Jazz is a classic.
Queen City Theater is presenting Typhoid Mary by playwright Tom Horan; which will be playing Fri-Sun from Sep. 29th- Oct. 8th.
