Come meet other animators and enthusiasts at this monthly meeting of the Cincinnati Animation Network, in partnership with the Cincinnati Film Society. Ask questions about working in animation, talk about your favorite films, and just hang out and see what the Cincinnati Animation Network is about.
On Sunday April 30th, the Cincinnati Movie “The Trap” will have it’s premiere screening.
Eleven years ago, in a class on relationships at the Findlay Street Neighborhood House in the West End, a group of African American teenagers was asked how many of them thought they would live past 30 years old. Very few hands went up.
Joe Prather Campbell, the oldest member of that class, turned 30 this year. To give people an idea of the challenges people growing up and living in their neighborhood face, Prather Campbell and some of his friends produced a movie, titled The Trap.
The Cincinnati Film Society is bringing you the chance of a lifetime, but we need your help to secure it! This Cincinnati raffle is raising money for the CFS filmmaker resources and youth education programs and our sponsor Open Doors Morocco has generously agreed to donate a free 4 day, 3 night tour of Morocco to one lucky raffle ticket holder (and a companion) once we reach a certain minimum of raffle ticket sales. If we can reach our entire goal, we can also provide $2000 toward airfare for the lucky winner. Get your friends to buy too so we can reach our goals! Don’t forget CFS is a 501(c)3 organization so donations are tax deductible!
⇒Each ticket is $10 and you may buy more than 1 ticket to increase your chances of winning

Cincinnati Raffle Winners Day One- Marrakech to Dades Gorges
Your host picks you up at your accommodations in the morning and you head toward the High Atlas Mountains and the Tichka Pass. You stop to visit the famous Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, which is registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Center and is a filming site for many movies. After the visit you take the Thousand Kasbahs Road through Skoura valley, which is famous for it’s 300 kasbahs. On the way to Dades Valley you pass through the famous rose fields of Kelaa M’gouna and you end your day at a well-located familial inn.
Winners Day Two- Dades Gorges to Merzouga
After breakfast, travel through a palm tree forest and the spectacular Todgha Gorges with it’s sharply cut rocks, then pass through Djebel Saghro, known for its dates and fossils. In the late afternoon you reach the great sand dunes of Merzouga where camels transport you to a Bedouin bivouac in the middle of the dunes to enjoy the sunset, dinner, music, and a night in a nomad tent under the stars.
Cincinnati Raffle Winners Day Three- Merzouga to Tamnogault
If you are early birds, watch the sun rise. Then trek by camel to the meeting place where you catch your 4×4 and head to the village of Tamnogault, which served as the 16th century meeting point for caravans travelling to and from the desert. Here you will visit the Tamnogault Kasbah, which served as the seat of the regional government as well as the aristocratic residence of the leaders of the area (whose family still own it to this day). From the top of the kasbah you have an unobstructed views of ruins and the river valley. Sleep at Chez Yacob, an ancient kasbah that has been converted into a comfortable hotel.
Raffle Winners Day Four- Tamnogault to Marrakech
Upon leaving Tamnogault, if there is enough time, you will drive though the Ounila Valley to Telouet Kasbah. The road back to Marrakech is the same one you took to Ait-Ben-Haddou, which is worth another view! Along the road you see the many diverse panoramas of Tizi-n-Tichka. Your host then drops you off at the riad Les Jardins Mandolines in Marrakech.
About Open Doors Morocco
Open Doors Morocco is a partnership of one Moroccan Bedouin, Said Ahnana and one Morocco Loving American, Nancy Lauer.
They go about tourism a little differently than the norm. They believe that enticing foreigners to vacation “in a bubble” apart from the culture of a place is selling the travelers and the host communities short. A suitcase of expensive souvenirs doesn’t compare to the personal transformation that comes from meaningful interaction with the personality of a place.
Their vision of authentic tourism is one where the lives of foreign guests, as well as those of Moroccan Nationals, are enriched in meaningful ways through ethical tourism.
